Spend Your Night With A Community That Cares

Nothing is going to change the fact that *their* President elect is filling the White House with anti-LBGTQ, anti-Muslim, racist, sexist, and anti-semitic white men; but we can stick a middle finger to the status quo and attend tonight's "A Memory Palace: A Vigil" event at the St. Marks Church in the Bowery.

The event presented by Danspace Project in partnership with Visual AIDS, celebrates the lives lost to AIDS through dance, music, readings and more with performances by DonChristian, Richard Kennedy, Hi Tiger, John Kelly and Sadaf. The event is free and starts at 6pm.

Twitter Rolls Out New Anti-Hate Speech Tool

Twitter is finally making (baby) steps to ensure users are protected from online abuse and harassment with new features against hate speech and threats. Welcome to 2016, Twitter.

Announced on the company's blog today, a "hateful conduct" reporting function will "enable you to mute keywords, phrases, and even entire conversations you don't want to see notifications about." Along with educating their own support team on the "cultural and historical contextualization of hateful conduct," Twitter says the option will work to shut down trolls and "prohibit specific conduct that targets people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease." Okay, but what about when your President elect is a Twitter troll?
