Wondering What Google's Original Logo Designer Says About The New Look?
Mashable caught up with Ruth Kedar, the designer behind the OG Google logo that first appeared on our desktops in 1999 to chat the new font lewk.
Kedar refused to critique/shade the new logo, simply telling the site that she's still wrapping her head around the makeover. "I am the quote unquote mother of the previous child who has gone away and come back in a slightly modified form, so I’m adjusting to that." The designer goes on to note that she figured change was coming once Google introduced Alphabet. "There have been a lot of changes in the company and the product line and technology and the media in which we display... So I’ve been surprised that they haven’t done something beforehand." Companion App Allows Friends To Virtually Walk You Home
Created by five students from the University of Michigan, Companion is an app that allows users to select a woke "companion" from their contact list and assign this person to be their virtual walking buddy. Once users share their destination, the app will alert the lookout whenever it detects a sudden change in movement, a turn in the wrong direction, if the headphones are yanked out, or the phone is dropped.
If danger is sensed, the app will send a message asking the user, "Are you OK?" and after 15 seconds the user must click "yes" or the companion will be notified. Companion can alert the police from within the app, and the lookout is not required to have the app downloaded to watch over their friend. You can download it for iOS and Android now.
Your First Look At Rihanna's FIRE Puma Kicks
RiRi may not have delivered a summer album, but as Puma's creative director and global brand ambassador, she's gearing up to release her own version of classic Puma kicks. Today, a teaser of the singer's first sneaker leaked online! CLICK PLAY BEFORE PUMA RIPS IT OFF THE INTERNET!
From the video, we can tell that the kicks come in buttery black suede (although, according to Rihannagram, there's also a tan version) equipped with a camel ribbed creeper sole. Her last name, "FENTY" will be emblazoned across the top of the packaging.
Considering that this leak comes from a Rihanna fan account, I'm assuming Rih sent her favorite Navy members freebies before the official drop. RIHANNA? CAN I HAZ? (Via: Twitter)
