"Panorama" will kick off two weeks after Governor's Ball and, obviously, GB's organizers are not pleased. Gov Ball's Tom Russell threw his two cents on the matter noting that the competition will "threaten our ability as a small business to continue putting on the kind of event that has showcased the best artists, created hundreds of local jobs and put millions of dollars back into the city's economy." Women Thrown Off Wine Tour For Laughing Too Loud File A $11 Million Lawsuit
Last month, a group of mostly black women part of the book club Sistahs on the Reading Edge were thrown off the Napa Valley Wine Train for being "too disruptive", according to Lisa Johnson, one of the members who live-tweeted the debacle on social media with the hashtag #LaughingWhileBlack. According to Johnson, a manager approached the women and threatened to throw them off the train if they didn't "tone it down." When the train reached St. Helena, police officers were waiting for the women and escorted them off the train. In an interview with The Guardian, Johnson revealed the women have filed an $11 million racial discrimination suit against the company. "We want people to realize that this is our life and there have been very serious repercussions," Johnson said. (Via: The Guardian)
