Mariah Carey's Team Says Her New Year's Eve Performance Was 'Sabotaged'
After an anxiety inducing New Year's Eve performance, Mariah Carey kicked off 2017 with a simple "shit happens." Now Page Six reports that Carey's team is alleging that the technical difficulties were part of a plan orchestrated by Dick Clark Productions, in order to drum up ratings. The production company received a scathing, caps-lock letter from Carey's manager/Mariah's World cast member, Stella Bulochnikov, accusing the company of sabotage. According to team Mimi, SHIT LIKE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN. Via The Post:
“You know her inner ears were NOT working and your entire production team did not set her up to win,” Bulochnikov, wrote to Mark Shimmel, whose company produced the performance from actual hell.
“THEY KEPT IGNORING HER. SHE TOOK A HIT HONORING HER COMMITMENT TO YOU. I SHOULD HAVE PULLED HER OFF THE STAGE THIS IS SABOTAGE.”
Bulochnikov told Page Six that she doesn’t believe Carey was deliberately given bad equipment, but that producers took advantage of the situation, saying, “Once things went wrong, they took the decision to keep rolling and make her look like a train wreck for the ratings,” she added, “They owe her a public apology.”
In a statement, DCP said that the accusation that it would “intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd."
Talladega College, WYD?
Alabama's oldest private, historically black liberal arts college, Talladega College is facing backlash after accepting an invitation to perform at Trump's inaugural parade. FAM, NO.
Literally, no one wants to be caught dead celebrating the election of the Sunkist nightmare. Celebrities like Celine Dion, Garth Brooks, and KISS have all declined to perform, and HBCU Howard University didn't even apply to march because why the fuck would a historically black school honor a white man who won an election by using Southern Strategy on steroids?!?!?!?!?!??! Talladega College officials have not released a comment. As of this writing, on the school website there is no notice of a Trump-related performance. (via: AP)
