HBO Documentary Films President, Sheila Nevins, Finds It "Unbelievable" That There's No Black Lives Matter Doc
As Hollywood scrambles to clean up the #OscarsSoWhite mess, HBO's Sheila Nevins told The Hollywood Reporter that she's already commissioned a documentary revolving around the Black Lives Matter movement. The motive behind her decision? The Oscar nominations. No surprise there. Via THR:
"The morning of the Oscar nominations. I noticed that all the [documentary] films that were up there, there was almost nothing about America, and my heart broke because I realized that documentary filmmakers are not looking in their own backyard. And if they are, they're not being recognized for it. The fact that there was no documentary about Black Lives Matter at a time when this is such a critical American issue … was unbelievable. I said to my colleague here, "Call [a director she declined to name in case a deal doesn't transpire]. See how much it would cost to do a big documentary about what's been happening in this country. You have to do it."
Let's hope it happens. (Via: THR)

Amy Schumer Responds To Accusations Of Joke Theft
via: YouTube via Jim Norton
In a series of tweets between comedians Wendy Liebman, Kathleen Madigan and Tammy Pescatelli, your girl Amy Schumer was accused of jacking jokes from the comics for her HBO stand up show, "Trainwreck", and Comedy Central's "Inside Amy Schumer".
"Between Amy Schumer doing 1 of my best jokes on her HBO special and this meme of my joke, I’m done with social media,' comedian Wendy Liebman tweeted on the weekend.
The tweet seems to be in reference to Wendy's joke: 'Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I like it when the guy pays for sex,' and a line from Amy's HBO special where she says 'I'm very old school, I think the guy should always pay on the first date for sex.' Someone went ahead and made an entire video of all the comedian's claims. Damn, internet you so shady.
Today, Schumer made an appearance on Jim Norton's Sirius XM radio show to "clear her name". She denied stealing and said, "[I'm] literally going to take a polygraph test and put it on my show this season." You can listen to full interview above, let us pray someone calls Maury in for a skit. (via: Daily Mail, USA Today)
