Who's To Blame For Donald Trump?
You can officially blame mainstream media. A new study published by Harvard's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy finds that the unprecedented amount of Donald Trump related coverage from the start of his campaign is how he went from publicity stunt joke to the Republican nominee.
Based off the pre-primary news from the eight major media platforms, including CBS, Fox News, the Los Angeles Times, NBC, USA Today, and the New York Times, The Shorenstein center says that Trump's campaign was documented in "a way that was unusual given his initial polling numbers." The Donald thirst was so real, Trump's coverage is the equivalent of nearly $55 million in free advertising— which is more than what the Republican candidate spent on his actual media buys during all of 2015.
