via: ABC

In a 5-3 vote, the Supreme Court rules that Texas' HB2 laws, which would have restricted access to reproductive services, were unconstitutional. The omnibus bill passed in 2013 mandated that abortion clinics to meet the same building standards as surgical centers, required doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at local hospitals, placed restrictions around medically induced abortions, and prohibited abortions 20-weeks after post-fertilization.

The law has resulted in a closure of 22 clinics, had the law been upheld, only ten clinics would remain in the state.

And in other epic SCOTUS ruling news, in a 6-2 decision, the court rejected an argument from two Maine men who said their guilty pleas for hitting their partners should not disqualify them from owning guns. (via: RT)
