DIY: 4 Holiday Face Masks For Glowing Skin

We all love a good DIY beauty treatment and, it being the Holiday season and all, we’re getting festive with our face masks. Made with ingredients you’re bound to find lying around the kitchen this month, these delicious treatments will give your skin a gorgeous glow just in time for those Holiday parties…

Egg Nog Mask: Tightens Pores

This one is almost too good to be true. It’s super quick, easy to prepare— especially with all the spare egg nog lying around this month— and it really works. The oatmeal has exfoliating qualities, the milk hydrates and the egg tightens the skin. Mix it all up, rub gently onto your face, leave for 10 minutes, remove and see the results!

1/2 pack of oatmeal; 3/4 cup of egg nog; 1/2 teaspoon of flax seed oil; couple dashes of clove powder

Gingerbread Mask: Smoothes Skin

Not only will this mask give you a silky smooth complexion, it will leave you smelling like your favorite Holiday cookie— win! Just blend the three ingredients, put it on and wait until it’s stiff to remove with a warm towel. Ginger also has natural antioxidants so the mask is great for treating acne and blemishes.

1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses; 1 pinch of ginger; 1 pinch of cinnamon

Cranberry Mask: Anti-Aging

Cranberries are the fruits that keep on giving. They have so many healing, boosting and preventative qualities, so grab an extra dollop of cranberry sauce at your Holiday feast! But if for some reason you have extra cranberries let over, here is a great homemade mask that reduces wrinkles and increases elasticity of the skin— I know, right? Mix it up, put it in the fridge for 45 mins and, once it’s set, relax for 15 mins as your face soaks up the goodness.

1 cup fresh cranberries; 1 cup seedless red grapes; 2 teaspoons grapefruit juice; 1 envelope of unflavored gelatin

Chestnut Mask: Exfoliates

After you’re done roasting your chestnuts on an open fire, why not use the leftovers to make a really easy facial scrub mask. Boil about 20 horse chestnuts, remove the shells, add water and olive oil and cook for 15 mins until a creamy paste forms. Add salt to make a great exfoliating mask (or leave as is for a mask that works wonders on broken veins), put it on and gently scrub off with warm water.
